Questions, answered.
Everything we've been asked, organized by topic.
How long does setup actually take?
If you have a PDF menu, our AI Menu Reader can structure it in under a minute. Without a PDF, plan for around 10 minutes to add your dishes manually with photos and prices. Either way, you'll be live the same day.
What happens after I sign up?
You're guided through a 5-step setup wizard — verify your email, choose a plan, name your restaurant, claim your unique URL. Within 5 minutes you're in the menu creator. Within 15 minutes your menu can be live.
Do I need any technical knowledge?
None at all. Everything is point-and-click. Upload a photo, type a price, drag to reorder. The AI handles translation, 3D model generation, and PDF imports automatically. If you can use Instagram, you can run your menu.
Do guests need to download an app?
Never. Guests open their phone's native camera, point at your QR code, and tap the link that pops up — the full menu, including 3D dishes, opens through their phone's own camera app. No separate application needed.
Can I update the menu after it's live?
Anytime. Edit a price, swap a photo, mark a dish sold out, or add a new item — changes publish instantly to every guest's phone. No reprinting, and your QR codes never change.
Can I preview my menu before publishing?
Yes — you can preview exactly what guests will see, on both desktop and phone, while you build. Nothing goes live until you choose to publish, so you can take your time getting it right.
Still got a 'how do I get started' question?
Can I switch plans or cancel later?
Yes — both, and you stay in control the whole time. You can switch plans or cancel directly from your dashboard whenever you want, no emails or support tickets required. There's no contract and no lock-in.
What happens if I exceed my 3D Dishes limit?
The menu creator displays a clear warning when you approach the limit and prevents new generations once you hit it. You can upgrade your plan at any time (prorated) to instantly raise the limit. Already-published 3D dishes never expire — the limit only counts toward generating new ones.
What happens to my menu and data if I cancel?
Your live menu goes offline when the plan ends, so guests scanning your QR code will see a short "menu unavailable" notice instead of your dishes. Nothing is deleted straight away, though — your menu, dishes, 3D models and subdomain are kept for 90 days, so if you resubscribe within that window everything comes back exactly as you left it, on the same address. After 90 days the subdomain is released and the menu data is removed.
Are taxes included in the listed prices?
No — listed prices are exclusive of tax. Any applicable taxes (VAT, GST, or sales tax) are calculated and added at checkout based on your billing location, so your final total may be slightly higher than the price shown on the plan card.
What's included in the Enterprise plan?
Custom branding, bespoke 3D dish animations, unlimited limits and priority support — basically, a fully white-labelled experience built around your restaurant group.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and SEPA. Bank transfers are available for Enterprise.
Is there a discount for yearly billing?
Yes — yearly billing saves you roughly 17% (two months free). You can switch between yearly and monthly anytime from your dashboard.
Need a bespoke quote or have a billing question?
Can I customize VestaQR style and looks?
Yes. Pro 3D and above include custom branding (logo + cover), and Premium adds full theme customization. Enterprise gets a custom domain and a designer-led theme created with you. Your menu should feel like your restaurant — not ours.
Can I change the default language and currency of the menu?
Yes — every plan. From the Personalise tab in Menu Designer you set your default language and currency, plus which additional languages and currencies guests can switch to from the menu's language/currency picker. Translations across the allowed languages are generated automatically when you save a dish, so a new dish name reaches every menu version instantly.
Can I turn features on and off for my menu?
Yes. Take orders, call waiter, take reviews, and auto-greeting are all toggleable in Menu Control. Pro 3D and Premium 3D plans get all four toggles. On Starter 3D the "take reviews" and "call waiter" features aren't available, but order taking and auto-greeting are.
Can I change colors or theme of the menu?
Yes. Premium plans get full theme customization through View Designer — change the menu's colors, typography, and overall theme without any code. Enterprise plans get all of that plus a designer-led theme built with our team.
Can I upload my own dish photos?
Yes, every plan. Upload photos directly in Menu Designer — there's no per-dish photo limit. 3D dishes are generated automatically by our AI from those photos, and on Premium and Enterprise you can also supply your own .glb / .usdz models.
Can I schedule different menus for different times?
Yes — Pro 3D and above include multi-menu scheduling and auto happy-hour. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a happy-hour menu can switch automatically at the times you set, so guests always see the right menu without you lifting a finger.
Need a bespoke design or a custom 3D dish?
Does this feature work in any country?
Yes — anywhere with an internet connection and a smartphone. The 3D dishes experience works right out of the box on both Android and iPhone, with the menu translating into major languages and prices showing in the right currency automatically, wherever your guest is.
What phones can view 3D dishes?
Any iPhone or Android phone from the last few years can view 3D dishes — no special device, no separate app to install. Older phones still get a smooth 360° spin of the dish that looks just as good.
Does the 3D experience need a separate app?
No. Our smart codes open everything right inside the phone's own camera — your guest just points at the code and taps, and the menu with its 3D dishes appears. There's nothing to download and nothing to set up.
Can guests interact with a 3D dish?
Yes — guests can spin the dish a full 360° and zoom right in to see the texture, garnish, and portion before they order. It's the closest thing to seeing the real plate arrive at the table.
How are 3D dishes made?
Our AI 3D DishGenerator turns a normal dish photo into a true-to-life 3D model — no scanning rig, no 3D expertise, no extra equipment. You preview each result and can regenerate until it looks exactly right before publishing.
Are dishes shown at their real size?
Yes. 3D dishes are rendered true-to-scale, so guests see the actual portion size before they order. It sets clear expectations, reduces surprises at the table, and gives diners the confidence to order more.
